NEXT TO NORMAL
Pulitzer and Tony Award winning play Next to Normal, will premiere at Hayes Theatre Co during January. The critically acclaimed musical questions exactly what is normal as love, loss and family are put to the forefront.
“Next to Normal is a powerful piece of modern music theatre that manages to touch the heart and soul of those who see it. Though it’s subject matter is complex,” Director, Darylin Ramondo, says. “It is intelligent, witty and full of heart, and is beautifully conveyed by this exceptional cast.”
The musical took out the Theatre People’s Choice for number one production after a two week run in Geelong. Next to Normal’s ensemble cast includes some of Sydney’s best musical theatre talent, including Natalie O’Donnell, Anthony Harkin and Alex Rathgeber. “It’s so refreshing to work on a musical that tackles such weighty and raw subject matter,” says actor Rathgeber. “This story of one small family makes us laugh and cry and see that we’re not so alone.
