MUSICAL: LITTLE WOMEN

MUSICAL: LITTLE WOMEN

BY STEPHANIE-KATE BRATTON

The Australian premiere of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel Little Women is coming to the Seymour Centre this November.

The musical adaption of this timeless story follows the adventures of the four remarkable March sisters in their coming-of-age stories during the American Civil War era. Little Women: The Musical is a show for the whole family ‘ a story of triumph of love and courage in the face of adversity, that will capture the hearts of each generation.

Musical Director Peter Rutherford says, ‘It’s about everything that matters, but it’s got guts.’ He describes the score as ‘incredibly melodic and very emotional,” saying that despite having a classic musical feel, the score ‘fits very well in the contemporary.”

The show features a strong cast with Helpmann award winner, Kate Maree Hoolihan (Jo March), Octavia Barron-Martin (Meg March), Jodie Harris (Beth March) and Erica Lovell (Amy March) bringing to life the sisters that have been a part of so many young girls’ lives. This Australian premiere will bring to life one of the most loved novels of all time, with seamless music and a devoted ensemble.
