Tall Stories, the wonderful group of entertainers who brought you The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and The 13-, 26-, 52-, 78- & 91-Storey Treehouses, presents their latest spectacle of fantasy and adventure, The Gruffalo’s Child.

The Gruffalo (1999) and its sequel,The Gruffalo’s Child (2004) are among the most successful children’s books ever printed. Penned in rhyming couplets by Julia Donaldson and beautifully illustrated by Axel Scheffler, the first book tells the story of a (supposedly) fictional creature, the Gruffalo, a devilishly clever mouse, and a snake, owl, and fox. The follow-up book reprises all the characters with the addition of the Gruffalo’s daughter.

When the Gruffalo warns his daughter not to enter the deep dark woods for risk of encountering the Big Bad Mouse, she naturally ignores him. Walking through said wood, she meets various creatures and, perhaps, the Big Bad Mouse? You’ll have to come and find out.

Tall Stories bring popular children’s books to life with music, physical theatre, puppetry, original songs, a little bit of scariness and lots of laughs. In The Gruffalo’s Child, they illustrate the perils of disobedience and the might of clever thinking over big teeth and claws.

Highly engaging entertainment for kids aged from 3 up and any grown-ups they’d like to bring along.
