‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ Is An Enchanting Tale Of Love & Courage In The African Sun

Walt Disney’s production of Mufasa: The Lion King arrives in cinemas just in time for the festive season, and promises to be a sure-fire box office hit!
This musical drama film serves as a prequel to the 2019 remake of the original 1994 hit The Lion King.
The story surrounds Mufasa, an orphan cub lost in the wilderness and all alone, until it crosses paths with a compassionate lion named Taka, a young prince who is the heir to a royal bloodline. And so the adventure begins, as they both – along with a group of eccentric animal characters – embark on an extensive journey in search of their destines and ultimately attempt to avoid a common enemy.
The computer animation process utilised to add realism to these talking animals is known as photorealistic rendering, which means that the likeness of the animals is captured from photographs to give them more credible and life like appearances.
The result is a stunning cinematic work, compounded by the beautifully captured picturesque, sun-drenched landscapes of Africa, also complemented by a soundtrack of powerful African music.
This movie is a feast for the eyes and ears. It’s loud and fast paced so there’s no time for restlessness or boredom to set in as, with many action and fight sequences involving the animal characters.
There are many humorous and heartfelt moments, which should downplay the effect of the scarier scenes on the much younger children, notably in the finale. Younger viewers may also find it difficult following the story.
There’s a message in this feel-good and fun-to-watch movie about love, courage and the need to belong. ‘It’s not what you were, but what you have become’ is a message which should be relatable to audiences of all ages.
Everybody who enjoyed the theatrical version of The Lion King should come along and be mesmerised by this enchanting movie, which is exactly what you’d anticipate from the Disney Studios.
