MICK ROCK – EXPOSED – THE FACES OF ROCK N ROLL

Bowie, Blondie, Beatles and Bob Dylan: these are a few of my favourite things at Mick Rock – Exposed – The Faces of Rock n Roll, photographic exhibition. He was labeled ‘the man who shot the 70s’ and ‘the music world’s top snapper’. Wandering through the Blender Gallery, a converted Paddington terrace, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back in time. The images, which cost anything from $500 to $5000, come in different shapes and sizes in both black and white and colour prints. The sounds of David Bowie echoes throughout the hallway and a fair few of these artworks feature him. This makes sense when considering Mick Rock was Bowie’s official photographer for two years and documented the rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust. For those unable to buy an artwork, a cool and classy book of these prints is available too. This is an exhibition well worth checking out.

Until Jul 30, Blender Gallery, 16 Elizabeth Street, Paddington, blender.com.au
