Massive line-up in the Valley: BIGSOUND 2023

The annual music festival is back in 2023, today revealing its full four-day showcase, conference and special events schedule.

Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley is set to come alive as BIGSOUND, Australia’s premier music conference and festival, unveils its highly anticipated full line-up and event schedule. With its diverse range of showcases, conferences, and special events, the 2023 event promises to be a platform for change and celebration within the Australian music industry.

This year’s line-up has already attracted significant attention, featuring renowned names like Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park), Christine Anu and Omar Grant (ROC Nation). The festival, spanning four days, 18 venues, 141 artists and 300 plus showcases has now announced the addition of over 50 new speakers and deal-brokers, along with the release of the full showcase timetable and special event program.

In 2023, the conference returns to its spiritual home, Judith Wrights Arts Centre (JWAC), which underwent major refurbishment in 2019. One of Queensland’s most dynamic arts organisations, JWAC is poised to welcome the hungry and ambitious minds of music enthusiasts.

Attendees who flood through the gates will gain knowledge from across the musical spectrum, including one of the most anticipated speakers, rock music legend Mike Shinoda, who will sit down with Rolling Stone AU/NZ Editor-In-Chief Poppy Reid for the opening keynote on Tuesday afternoon.

The conference will also feature a diverse range of speakers, including Georgia Maq, who will share her experiences as a woman in Australian rock and her outspoken advocacy for gender rights. Others from a vast array of backgrounds include, industry expert Casey O’Shaughnessy, Bic Runga, and Alex the Astronaut, offering unique perspectives on various aspects of the music industry.

As well as the conference, BIGSOUND will showcase over 150 acts across three nights, offering attendees the opportunity to discover hidden gems and enjoy performances by both emerging and established artists. The festival will feature a series of official special events, including Oztix’s 20th Birthday Bash, Mushroom Groups 50th Birthday celebration, Live Nations One to Watch, and UNIFIED Music Groups industry event.
