Jazz Is Dead: A new initiative of Artistic Director Zoe Hauptmann, SIMA’s “Jazz is Dead” band nights will present projects that dwell on the fringes of the jazz scene, living in the limbo between musical territories. Expressing current trends, different forms and musics from other worlds this will be a night of fresh and diverse sound to rattle your bones. This week features Danaîdes, Carl Morgan and Project Collective Ska all hitting the stage.

The concert is compromised of six suites of music from the films of the great Italian director Federico Fellini, composed by revered Italian composer Nino Rota and arranged by Peter Dasent. The Umbrellas perform music from some of the most famous films, including La Strada and La Dolce Vita.
