‘Life After Fighting’: The most action-packed Aussie movie ever made!
Move over Bruce Lee: the world has a new martial arts action hero in Life After Fighting‘s Alex Faulkner and he’s out to get the bad guys!
The synopsis is simplistic. When a martial arts instructor’s two students are kidnapped, he makes it his mission to find the children and punish those responsible.
But what transpires is much more dangerous than at first expected when an international child trafficking ring is unveiled.
Australian actor and martial artist Bren Foster stars in the pivotal role as Alex Faulkner and he also serves as the writer, director and executive producer. He has an impressive body of work including roles on television programs Days Of Our Lives, The Last Ship and Home and Away.
This is a low budget Aussie Indie flick but an extremely impressive one. A slow burner in the first quarter but as the story builds audiences should be enveloped by the intriguing story that unfolds.
Life After Fighting is without doubt one of the most action-packed Australian drama thrillers ever produced in this country. The martial arts action must be seen to be believed. Audiences are cleverly baited with snippets of martial arts in the initial stages whilst the story and characters are being set up.
The action builds until the final non-stop explosion of angst, blood and emotions which consumes the last 40 minutes of the movie.
Cleverly choreographed death-defying fight sequences that leave nothing to the imagination may be unnerving for some audiences. Ultra-violent at times as limbs are torn from sockets and merciless deaths are achieved by kniving.
Some realistic scenes of violence to children may prove too traumatic for the more sensitive of viewers. However as gruesome as these scenes are, they are mandatory in escalating the hatred against these villains so that audiences would triumphantly cheer as the body count increases.
Audiences may ponder whether the martial arts warfare will ever finish as it just seems there’s no end in sight – just when you think it’s finally over the action once again builds to the delight of martial arts enthusiasts.
Bren Foster is very impressive to watch. The men in the audience will be captivated by his highly skilled fighting techniques while the women will be swooning over his striking good looks and bronzed physique, especially in the scenes where he’s hot, sweaty and shirtless.
Adversely, some performances by the supporting cast in minor roles are amateurish and there are also a couple of subplots which are non-essential to the story and simply lengthen the running time of the film.
But overall, Life After Fighting is a very enjoyable film and should prove a popular choice on streaming services.
