Enthusiasts of extreme sports should not miss the Freestyle Kings Capital Tour presented by Freestyle Kings and TEG Van Egmond which revs into Sydney for one spectacular show at the Qudos Bank Arena.

Ten of the biggest names in Freestyle Motorcross including Robbie Maddison and Rob Adelberg will join forces to present an octane charged and heart stopping 2 hour family show that should not only satisfy but overwhelm the legion of fans.

Ryan Williams is a professional award-winning Aussie scooter and BMX rider who has joined the tour. At the tender age of 13 he was showcasing his skating ability on his very own YouTube channel. In the years since his popularity has skyrocketed and he has a huge following on social media with an incredible 6 million followers and over 400 million views on his YouTube channel.

“People who come to this show can expect to see the highest level of Motorcross riding and from my end we’re going to be pushing the boundaries of BMX and see what we can do,’ enthused Williams. “You’re going to see the best tricks from both worlds of BMX and Motorcross.”

There will be choreographed death-defying stunts including front flips and double backflips performed to pyrotechnics, music and firebreathers.

When asked whether the spectators will be sitting at the edge of their seats, Williams laughingly explained that he’ll definitely be sitting at the edge of his seat!

“Audiences always get the best entertainment when we’re trying something new. The stunts are very dangerous however we’re very calculated in taking those risks. We always ask ourselves, is the risk worth the reward? For the audience the risk is definitely worth the reward!”

When asked whether he becomes nervous just before performing these dangerous stunts Williams paused momentarily.

“I’ve learnt to control my fear and I believe in myself but I feel that during the show it helps to have the audience there because they get to enjoy the win or the lose of the trick. The risk is there but if I happen to crash everyone gets to enjoy watching it! I’m a professional crasher, so when we fall, we know what we’re doing.”

Williams has devised 12 BMX & Scooter ‘world first’ tricks; so what’s the thought process in thinking up new tricks to stun audiences?

“There’s tricks that have been done on a scooter that people think may not be possible on a BMX bike, but that’s not the way I think. Basically I’ll reach into my bag of tricks from the scooter world and bring them into the BMX world, and vice versa.”

The world of extreme sports can obviously be extremely dangerous. Williams has dislocated both his shoulders, broken an arm and ankle, and suffered skull fractures. But is it difficult to get back on the BMX bikes and scooters after suffering such injuries?

“I’m probably the extreme sport athlete who has suffered the least injuries!’ laughed Williams. “I’ve been considerably lucky considering what I do for a living. I’ve never had surgery in my whole life. You can get hurt doing anything in life and scootering and BMX riding has brought so much more happiness into my life than negativity. Sometimes injuries have helped me in ways to be more calculated and to think about the risks involved – they’ve actually helped me get back up on my scooter and bike.”

This adrenaline charged show should appeal to people of all ages including families. “If you’ve never seen action sports, that’s even more reason to come along. The indoor extreme sports shows are always the best as they capture the audience, the excitement and the action and I’m stoked to be part of it!” concluded Williams.
