Pride Soiree at The Vanguard in Newtown brings together all the magical elements of a Kara Zmatiq Soiree Cabaret with the ball of rainbow energy that is World Pride for what promises to be a phenomenal show.
Kara Zmatiq is an exceptional drag performer whose appearance on Australia’s Got Talent helped launch a career that continues to sky rocket. Her Soiree Cabaret shows have drawn enthusiastic praise and return fans wherever it has played.
What makes Kara exceptional as a drag artist is that she sings live – no syncing – and her voice is absolutely astonishing. The set list includes mirror-ball anthems by legendary divas and pop artists, including: Gloria Gaynor (“I Will Survive”), Madonna (“Like A Virgin”), Diana Ross (“I’m Coming Out”), The Weather Girls (“It’s Raining Men”), Cher (“Believe”), Haddaway (“What Is Love”), Ultra Nate (“Free”) and of course, Australia’s very own Kylie Minogue (“On A Night Like This”).
A typical soiree evening also features acts by jaw-dropping acrobatic and circus performers/dancers. This show is going to be especially exciting, with featured artists Tyler Heath and Tro Griffith, and master of mischief Patrick Glanville, plus some undisclosed surprise guests.
