INTO THE MIRROR

Not many productions today can boast storylines that are as hard-hitting and confronting as Into the Mirror. Written and directed by Australian playwright Shelley Wall, the play is a spellbinding social insight into the world of gender transformation. The audience is a fly on the wall in situations too often deemed private.

Wall’s creation was inspired by a colleague’s similar journey from she to he.

“I wanted to write a play that celebrated identity and acceptance,” says Wall. “I believe the characters and the story will touch the audience as their issues and weaknesses are human frailties we have all experienced either personally or through someone we love.”

With talent including Penny Day as Sally-cum-Kendall, and previewing on International Transgender Remembrance Day, Into the Mirror is a follow-up to the production company’s highly acclaimed 2009 Missing Pieces.
