After five movies spanning over forty years the adventures of globe-trotting archaeologist, professor and adventurer Indiana Jones finally come to an end in this final instalment where iconic Indiana receives the sendoff he deserves.

Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) must find and repossess a long-lost Greek artefact that can change the course of history before it falls into the hands of the villainous Nazis. He must also compete against his Goddaughter (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) who is in the business of acquiring ancient artefacts and selling them on the black market.

And so the adventure begins as audiences take this nostalgic trip down memory lane re-experiencing all the elements which have made this franchise the juggernaut it has become.

Reminiscent of a good old fashioned Saturday matinee serial from a bygone era, the outlandish, quick-witted, thrilling, and exhilarating style of the movie delivers an absolute adventure spectacle that should enthrall movie-goers of all ages.

The first 25 minutes of the movie is set during WWII, so through the wizardry of Hollywood filmmakers audiences will see a de-aged and CGI transformed version of Indiana, which is worth the price of admission alone.

Admittedly, there’s not much originality in what seems like more of the ‘same old, same old’ but this actually works well as all the elements which have made the classic franchise a worldwide success are evident and that’s what audiences demand.

Action-packed with death-defying stunts, twists and turns, endless car chases and jaw-dropping aerial sequences this movie is seemingly a love letter to the fanbase and should appeal to the child in all of us.

All good things must come to an end and so perhaps the timing was right to bring this franchise to a close, as it was somewhat amusing and detracting at times watching a very elderly Indiana being victorious in fight sequences with much younger and muscle inflated henchmen.

Some characters from previous films return for final appearances, notably one in particular that sets in motion an emotional conclusion which movie-goers should fondly approve of.

Steven Spielberg and George Lucas are credited as executive producers and the original musical score is composed by John Williams which adds credence to the quality of the production. With a staggering price tag of $US295 million this is one of the most expensive movies ever produced – and it shows on screen.

Enjoy the movie magic one last time before Indiana Jones fades off into the sunset. It’s definitely the rollercoaster ride to adventure that you wouldn’t want to miss on the big screen!
