HAYLEY WESTENRA – HUSHABYE
Hayley Westenra’s album of lullaby melodies and soothing arrangements is a pretty little offering from this New Zealand songstress who was signed with Universal Records in the UK at the tender age of 14. Obviously talented and with a very pleasant voice, the album is full of lovely songs but is not breaking any new ground. It is simple and straightforward and prudently dedicated to the Prince and Duchess of Cambridge’s impending Royal Baby. Classic songs such as Dream A Little Dream and Brahms Lullaby instantly trigger nostalgic smiles from this 13-track album of soft serenades. (LL)
