It may be the nearest you come to Heaven this Christmas. The angelic voices of the internationally renowned St Mary’s Cathedral Choir and the Sinfonia Australis performing a mix of classical works and favourite carols in the magnificent St Mary’s Cathedral.

A Choral Christmas Celebration  features the work of Bach, Handel, Rutter, and more sung by male adult and youth voices and enhanced by the sublime acoustics of Sydney’s landmark Gothic revival church.

The choir will be accompanied by highly regarded chamber orchestra, Sinfonia Australis, and no doubt be joined by members of the audience in renditions of classic Christmas songs including  ‘O Come, all ye faithful’, ‘Hark the herald angels sing’, ‘Once in royal David’s city’, and many more.

As an added treat, a number of celebrities and notable public figures will read verse and other Yule-flavoured writings.

“With so much change and confusion in the world, we offer a traditional Christmas experience of transcendent beauty, stillness, and peace. Be inspired by soul-stirring music in the awe-inspiring grandeur of St Mary’s Cathedral. Give yourself the gift of music this Christmas” says Thomas Wilson, Director of Music of the St. Mary’s Cathedral Choir.

There will be only two concerts, one morning and one evening on the same day. These performances sell-out each year, so don’t hesitate. It’s a spiritual experience unlike any other.
