GRACELAND AND ASLEEP ON THE WIND

GRACELAND AND ASLEEP ON THE WIND

He is one of the biggest icons of the 20th Century, the King of rock and roll with the shakin’ hips and a voice that melted hearts. However, with an extensive focus in the conscience of today, Elvis Presley’s image can become over-used and overrated.

Cue the Sydney-based Operating Theatre Company who will debut their not-for-profit organisation’s latest two-part production, Graceland and Asleep On The Wind.

“This production differs because it is told from a fan’s point of view,” explains director Jo-Anne Cahill.
“It looks at the psychological aspects of fandom, and how the charismatic magnetism of certain celebrities draws people in.”

With a professional acting cast gracing the halls of the Sidetrack Theatre in Marrickville, this production is set to be an incredible party. Combining some of the King’s greatest songs with an intriguing story, makes it one to watch.

“It’s a lovely retro play that we have put our heart and soul into. If we get as many bums on seats as we can then we can continue to do our work!” (CD)
