Pyrmont Festival kicks off this weekend with Sydney’s most popular outdoor food, wine, and art event in the beautiful, harbourside surrounds of Pirrama Park. This two day event features a packed program of music, demonstrations, wine-tasting, workshops and much more, and is the beginning of a month-long calendar of activities.

It’s eleven years since the Pyrmont Ultimo Chamber of Commerce and first reached out to a group of NSW wineries to organise and food and wine festival in Sydney. The idea was to bring the best of the country into town and match it up with the best of the city. It proved a very popular idea and the event has grown with each successive year.

This year, the two-day opener in Pirrama Park will host 15 wineries from premium regions around the state. The wineries will each have their own mini-marquee with a selection of their best wines available for ticketed wine tastings and to purchase. You can also ask for advice or chat about wine-making.

There will be three boutique breweries behind a pop-up bar, pulling long, cool draughts, offering ticketed tastings and selling their take-home brew.

Three boutique breweries will be in the park.

Rounding out the drink palate will be a gin distiller from way up north with their bespoke spirit.

For food, enjoy freshly shucked oysters and juicy prawns from the Cheeky Naked Oyster Bar. Or try a blow-torch scorched cheesy scallop at the Japanese Aburi Bar.

If you need a bigger hit for your appetite, there are plenty of food trucks and stands offering a range of cuisines plus sweet bites, coffee, and ice-cream.

Take home some delectable gourmet sauces, preserves and other products, deli meats, cheeses, crusty bread, and one or two artisan homewares too.

A range of delicious food offerings.

There’s large-sized games, face-painting, and a jumping castle for the kids and the park is fully accessible. You can also bring your four-legged friend on a leash.

Easy to get to by ferry, bus, light-rail, bicycle or car.

Free entry.
