GameFest 2015

A celebration of all things gaming, GameFest will blur the lines between gaming and theatre, taking already existing games and jazzing them up with food, costumes, music and theatre to create an interactive and immersive atmosphere like no other.

The rules of these simple games are social, with the main goal being to bring together like-minded people and create a space that is fun, welcoming, accessible and non-intimidating for people to experience new ideas and learn more about gaming.

The creators of the event hope to unite Sydney gamers of all types by bringing in as many gaming types as possible including large-scale social party games such as Werewolf and Two Rooms and a Boom, a live mega game based on The Martian, tutorial roleplaying games such as Dungeons and Dragons (as well as lectures and presentations by Dungeon masters and experienced players), board and card games, room escapes, and Mario Kart all day every day.

The venue is open from noon to midnight with a drop-in drop-out approach during the day, and ticketed sessions during the evening where there will be one-on-one solo interactions for hardcore gamers, talks by industry luminaries and commentators and many other gaming events. Whether you’re a geek obsessed with video games and roleplaying, or a newbie who’s into the occasional social party game, this five day mini-festival has something for everyone. (ASha)
