FUN SIZE

It’s Halloween and Wren (Victoria Justice) is applying for college, her mother (Chelsea Handler) is dating a much younger man and her  little brother, Albert , has not spoken since the death of their father a year earlier. Jackson Nicoll as Albert steals the show without saying a word and the movie follows his escapades and Wren’s attempts to find him, as he follows a lost stash of Halloween sweets.

The film is typical Nickelodeon fare, it’s well made and light hearted, but not deeply meaningful or thoughtful. Some of the movie’s themes are a bit adult so it’s more suitable for the older teenager rather than the younger tween. However, for that demographic, it’s a fun ride and will provide a few laughs, the asthmatic cat being a highlight. (LR) **
