FLY ME TO THE MOON
Isabelle (Diane Kruger) believes her family is cursed as each ‘first marriage’ ends in divorce. To avoid this curse she plans to marry a stranger, quickly divorce him then wed her fiancé.
Isabelle targets and marries Jean-Yves (Dany Boon) but her plan backfires as she inevitably falls for him. She must decide whether to marry her wealthy and well-organised fiancé Pierre (Robert Plagnol) or Jean-Yves, who offers a fun but insecure lifestyle.
Fly Me to the Moon is a charming and quirky French romantic comedy made to a winning formula. Kruger and Boon are mesmerising and the humour is enriched by that infectious French arrogance and intermittent slapstick comedy.
This feel-good film comically highlights there’s more to love than wealth and well-packaged lifestyles. (MM)
