ELLIS D FOGG’S “TALES FROM THE FOGG”
Since the 60s, Roger Foley-Fogg (aka Ellis D Fogg) has been weaving energy into dreams through his lumino-kinetic sculptures. When his mother took him to art classes at age 12, it sparked a lifetime of creation and curiosity with the strange behaviour of light. “I was fascinated by [light’s] anomalous qualities, it’s very hard to define. What is it?” asks Fogg. “You only see light when it punches you in the eye.”
From those early days his career has spanned decades and continents across various mediums. “The show I am most proud of is the light shows I did with the Aboriginal people in The Kimberley,” he shares. “They wanted to tell the story of the massacre of their relatives and I spent a long time up there with them.” Fogg took hundreds of photographs while there, which then took on an artistic life of their own.
The internationally exhibiting artist, sculptor, futurist, social entrepreneur, psychedelic explorer and creative mastermind is now at the centre of an incredible retrospective and celebration of his life of art titled Ellis D Fogg’s “Tales From The Fogg”. Which includes an astounding array of artefacts and rare cultural gems relating to his activism and creativity over the years.
This exhibition is a series of wonderful events and psychedelic exhibitions that also features live performance art from artists such as Madam Lash and jazz diva/poet Edwina Blush. Tales From The Fogg is a celebration and dedication not to be missed. (LL)
