Don’t Breathe

Break into the house of a blind Gulf War veteran, take the rumoured $300,000 cash stored somewhere in the house, and get out. This was meant to be an easy, final job for the trio of petty criminals, Rocky, Alex and Money. Yet, as one could expect with a horror thriller movie, nothing could ever be so simple.
Unfortunately, other than a few moments of suspense, and the sudden appearance of a big dog, and a blind man, Don’t Breathe does not live up to its description as a horror film. Nonetheless the film keeps the audience entertained with its multitude of twists; every time you think that our petty criminals might escape and live, or be caught and die, the unexpected happens.
Don’t Breathe is best for those looking for a film that offers a nice mix of thriller and plot twists, rather than a fright. (RP)
