Before he jumps into his camper-van and trots around Australia like all good British tourists (as headline for Good Vibrations) Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim has seen fit not only to give us BPA (see last week) but also a remix album Dance Bitch. What wonderful timing! Partnering with the likes of Santogold, Gorillaz and three spots by BPA will always attract interest, while The Chemical Brothers prove they remain one of the most consistently contemporary dance acts with Hey Boy, Hey Girl (Soulwax Remix). Elsewhere the pickin’s are getting slim though, so to speak. This album is meant to be party-central, and whilst at 3am you might be inclined to agree, the cold light of day is less flattering. When he rode the wave Norman was king, right now he look a little more like a pasty English tourist – hope he brings the sun-block.
