COOL THE PLANET BITE BY BITE – 2008 SYDNEY VEGANEXPO

Although the public is becoming aware of the need to find ways to reduce greenhouse gases and to find greener ways to produce energy, most people still don’t realise the destructive impact of the meat and dairy industries on the health of the planet.

“Eliminating meat and dairy from your diet is more effective at reducing greenhouse gases than converting to a hybrid car,” Loren Lembke, President of the Vegan Society NSW, says. ‘The effect of a reduction in meat and dairy consumption would be an immediate lowering of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which would slow or reverse global warming.”

Following the success of last year’s Sydney VeganExpo, Cool the Planet Bite by Bite is returning to take over Wharf 8 at Darling Harbour on 15 June.

The Expo will feature an eco-friendly fashion show, live music and special guests Darren Cordeux from Kisschasy, Steve Kilbey of The Church, Lindsay McDougall of Frenzal Rhomb and Triple J, Lee Rhiannon, leader of the NSW Greens, Pete Ahh and more.

Besides delicious healthy vegan food there will be stalls featuring many animal and environmental groups as well as the latest vegan products for personal use, health and environmental protection.
