Claims that Mayor breached local government rules

The use of City of Sydney staff to organise a press conference for the Lord Mayor to announce her team ahead of the election is a breach of local government guidelines, according to Greens Councillor Chris Harris.
Cr Harris raised his concern with the City’s CEO, Monica Barone, after members of the media were invited by the Council’s communications staff to attend Clover Moore’s campaign launch.
“The use of City of Sydney Staff for election media [and] campaigning is clearly contrary to the [Department of Local Government] guidelines,” Cr Harris wrote in a letter to Ms Barone, seeking a response detailing what will be done about the alleged breach.
