Brian Connolly – art on the wall

Inspired by highland forests, which were the playground of his youth, and inner questioning of his identity and sexuality, Brian Connolly’s work is bold, abstract, playful and fluid.
Connolly grew up in the Gold Coast Hinterland, surrounded by lush, textured foliage and undulating landscapes whose shapes and colours found their way into his paintings.
Working with a variety of mediums including canvas, fashion, ceramics, furniture and walls, Connolly transforms surfaces into vibrant visual stories that have a strong sense of movement and an emotional depth that connects the artwork with the viewer immediately.
His striking imagery has attracted interest from corporate and commercial clients, and he has been commissioned to create murals for acclaimed hair and beauty salon Edwards & Co which can be seen across multiple locations in Australia.
He recently created a mural for the flagship Mecca cosmetics store in Sydney’s CBD and his imagery has been featured on a bespoke Ink Gin bottle available exclusively in hotels, restaurants and private residences.
With more than 30 murals throughout Australia and artworks in galleries across the country and the globe, Connolly is recognised as a significant artist whose profile continues to grow.
A special selection of 15 of Connolly’s works are currently on display in the lobby gallery of the Pullman Sydney Hyde Park hotel. The art is available for purchase. All are welcome to come and view.
