BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOR

The life of Adèle (Adèle Exarchopoulos) changes when she meets Emma (Léa Seydoux), a young woman with blue hair. Adèle aspires to be a teacher, Emma is an artist and they embark on a passionate love-affair.
It’s hard to understand the logic behind the inclusion of some scenes and even harder to understand why those scenes go on for so long. If director Abdellatif Kechiche ever makes a comedy he would do well to remember ‘brevity is the soul of wit’.
Blue is the Warmest Color is a worthwhile, moving film that is gathering acclaim and awards worldwide, however, it could have been told in half the time. (MMu)
