Between Us

ATYP proudly presents Between Us – the 2015 The Voices project comes to Sydney this February, for the fifth year in a row. Showcasing underground talent from Australia, focusing on young undiscovered writers and actors looking to make their mark. These lucky few are inspired and guided throughout the process by industry leaders, for one week, launching many a career in this competitive field.

This year the theme is secrets. “A 90-minute show straight through covering the subject provided, which is uniquely incorporated into how it’s presented. I wanted to use the space as a secret as well, the show unravels as it happens,” says director, Sarah Parsons.

The show consists of 10, seven-minute long monologues. “This year’s project talks about what secrets do to people and how they change us. It’s not about judgement, it’s just part of being a human and something we can all connect with. How does a secret affect you?” she says.

The concept is a beautiful way to let aspiring authors and actors into the very crowded doorway of success. The Voices Project is an entertaining hour and a half that let’s you peak into the future of Australian creative minds. Not only allowing their voices to be heard, but give their ideas substance and attention. “It’s an unlocking of what it means to be human,” explains Parsons. (RBM)
