The largest tattoo convention in the Southern Hemisphere, showcasing over 400 tattoo artists, will be making its way to the International Convention and Exhibition Centre from March 10-12. The Australian Tattoo Expo will be hosting a gathering of body art enthusiasts to deliver a curated line up of artists and entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
Special guest Israeli-American tattoo artist Ami James, who appeared on Miami Ink and Ink Master, will be hosting the expo. Visitors will also be able to enjoy an exclusive live chat with Ami James and Kian Forreal of Authentic Ink.
The event will explore a range of tattoo artists and practices, including traditional and contemporary techniques, trends and styles for audiences to get inspired by. The entertainment will commence on The Main Stage with Sydney fire dancers, sword swallowers and various tattoo competitions.
‘Shittiest Tattoo Competition’ comes to Sydney
The “Shittest Tattoo Competition” is not one to be missed, acknowledging the cringe-worthy, embarrassing, and worst of the worst tattoos.
All competitions have cash prizes up for grabs, with the CTAA (Competitive Tattooing Association Australia) competition holding a prize of $60,000 for competitors.
The Australian Tattoo Expo will be celebrating its 12th year running, with the Australian Exhibition Group CEO and Founder Kevin Mack expecting this year’s expo to see record numbers.
“The Tattoo Expo is not only a place for the community to gather, but it introduces newcomers to the world of body art and modification, offering a unique opportunity to get up and personal with some of the best artists in the world,” Mack said.
To join in on this creative event, Single Day Pass tickets can be purchased for $45.00 standard pricing, $30.00 for concession and $15.00 for children aged 13-17. Children under 12 can be admitted for free with an accompanying adult.
