A SIMPLE SPACE

A SIMPLE SPACE

Acrobats push their body to the limits and defy gravity in a fabulous show of theatre, acrobatics and fun coming to the Sydney Festival.

The circus themed show A Simple Space features seven acrobats who laugh at the limits of gravity as they engage in routines of brute strength and agility.

Lachy Binns, one of the acrobats, says that the group engage in both choreographed routines and improvisation.  “We play around on stage as a big group and push our bodies to the limit get to the extremes of what the body can do,” he says. “We do a bunch of different routines and we are constantly playing new games; we improvise as well but the higher skills need are choreographed.”

Accompanied by a live musician, the show isn’t focused on theatrics but focused solely on the body and pushing it to its limits.

Featuring people flying through the air, hand balancing acts and flipping routines, A Simple Space is    a stunning show for all ages. “It continually evolves to keep it exciting and fresh, we change things up a little bit with new tricks and new routines and games,” he says. “We are just normal people doing pretty amazing things.” (SOC)
