The biggest show in the world is about to arrive in Sydney and yes, it’s going to be phenomenal! After sellout seasons in London, Paris and Madrid Eurovision On Tour will be performing in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

What makes this such a unique experience is that this is the first time since the Eurovision Song Contest began in 1956 that the show has been taken on the road and Australia is the only country fortunate enough to have performances in several cities.

There will be 18 Eurovision legends taking to the stage performing their songs which took the world by storm at past Eurovisions. As an added bonus there will be an area in the venue allocated for a special display of stage props and outfits which were worn by many of these singing sensations, including those worn by ABBA.

Performers who have joined the Australian tour include tour star and spokesperson Senhit (San Marino), Carola (Sweden), Destiny (Malta), Esther Hart (Netherlands), Soraya (Spain) and Suzy (Portugal).

Two Australian artists who mesmerized international audiences with their renditions at the 2024 Eurovision and have been confirmed to perform at Eurovision On Tour are Korean Australian songstress from Brisbane Dami Im and Sydney’s Silia Kapsis, who at the age of 17 was the youngest entrant in this year’s Eurovision.

Silia Kapsis was born and raised in Sydney and is of Greek and Cyprus descent. She started performing at the age of 3 and a half. She loved to sing, act and dance and trained with professionals building her skills and eventually would travel to Los Angeles working with famous choreographers and building connections.

Television projects for Nickelodeon would follow and she toured as the lead singer with the Australian Youth Performing Arts company.

Today she is an accomplished performer, writing and producing her own musical material and she has a very bright future ahead of her.

“I realized that producing my own work was key, showcasing that work and putting myself out there on social media platforms were all a part of the process. I kept working hard towards my goals, even when I faced rejections and setbacks,” explained Kapsis.

In early September 2023 it was officially announced that she would be the Cypriot entrant for the 2024 Eurovision and an astounding 163 million people worldwide would eventually tune in. Eurovision was an enormous platform where she showcased her artistry on the international stage.

“It was a great honour to be a participant. Eurovision is not just a competition, it’s a huge celebration of cultures, of diversity, unity and incredible talent. I was also honoured to be representing Cyprus this year. It felt so surreal representing a whole nation. Not only did I want to make Cyprus proud, but I wanted to make Australia and Greece proud of me too.”

Kapsis wants to inspire young people like her to work hard, believe in themselves and to know that anything is possible.

She is an artist who has accomplished so much in the field of entertainment at such a youthful age and when asked what her aspirations are for the future, she was quick to respond.

“I want to be able to do concerts all over the world and connect with my fans globally. I’m lucky because everything I do intertwines with my singing, dancing and acting. With this package you can pull off great performances. For me, it’s important that I can do it all.”

Kapsis who currently resides in Greece said she is excited to be performing at the Eurovision On Tour in Australia.

“I have missed Australia and can’t wait to come back and perform for you all. Eurovision On Tour is a great show, and its aim is to bring the music and the Eurovision artists closer to the fans. I’m proud to be a part of it and Australia is going to love it!”
