Young foodies peddle a ride-on lunch

Sydney’s young foodies will get on their bikes for a moveable feast this Saturday, cycling around inner suburbs visiting venues which celebrate local and seasonal produce, as well as meeting young farmers, gardeners, chefs and cooks who share their vision of a sustainable food future.

The Youth Food Movement Australia will be hosting the event as part of the Sydney International Food Festival.

“It’s an urban food adventure, an informal gathering of like-minded people, where food is the only fuel of the day,” said spokesperson Oday Kamal.

You have to book for the 11am ride-on lunch but everyone is invited to an ‘Eat in the Streets’ picnic afterwards at 4pm.

Their riding locations are “top secret”, although we know the ride will start at 11am at the launch of the book Crown Street Cooks at Shannon Reserve next to the Surry Hills Library, where the riders can meet Lord Mayor Clover Moore.  You can link up with the group on Facebook (Youth Food Movement Australia) or Twitter (@YFMAustralia).
