You Bette Catherine Alcorn is divine!

She is big, bold, brassy, and she does Bette better than anyone else. Catherine Alcorn is back as Better Midler in the show that made her an internationally acclaimed entertainer – The Divine Miss Bette. 

It’s barely an impersonation for Alcorn: she is equally ebullient, irreverent, and high-spirited as Midler, and has the extraordinary voice to match Midler’s show-stopping numbers. 

Alcorn first toured her show in 2009 and it was a sensation. In fact, it got noticed by the legendary Steve Ostrow,  the creative entrepreneur who launched the careers of Barry Manilow, Patti La Belle, Peter Allen, and  Bette Midler herself.   

“I began working with Catherine in 2009 and instantly recognised the same fire, passion and star quality in her that I saw in a young Bette all those years ago. Vocally, Catherine is masterful.  Her performances and approach to the material are a masterclass in song interpretation.  Seeing her perform brings me great joy.  Catherine’s energy on stage and her authentic connection to her audiences can’t be taught.  She’s the real deal.  She’s a star,” said Ostrow, who offered to mentor Alcorn after seeing her perform.

Alcorn is an enormously talented artist with a skillset that includes writing, producing, singing, and acting. She can be wickedly funny, then heart-wrenchingly poignant, but never dull. 

The Divine Miss Bette will feature Midler classics including Friends, In The Mood, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Do You Wanna Dance, The Rose, Wind Beneath My Wings and more. Alcorn will be backed by energetic dancers and a classy 7-piece band in the state-of-the art auditorium of Sydney Coliseum.
