WIRES Newtown looking for new wildlife warriors

WIRES is offering four training courses over two weekends on the 13th and 14th of August and 27th and 28th August.

In NSW, a person is not allowed to care for native animals without an annual authority to act issued under the licence held by WIRES or other licenced wildlife rehabilitation organisations.

WIRES training courses give an insight of how animals become injured and come into our care.

WIRES is a not-for-profit organisation which helps sick, injured and orphaned native animals and releasing them back to the wild.

A wildlife training course was washed out last weekend after the group’s building in Newtown developed excessive leaks during heavy rainfall.

“This also offers a second chance for anyone who has been thinking about the rewards of becoming a wildlife carer to do the training,” said Brigette Sharp from WIRES Inner West.
