What the hell are these?
It’s enough to drive an editor mad. These small metal strips are all over Sydney’s streets and no-one seems to know what they are. Please, if you know, tell us and we’ll publish the answer, making you briefly famous in a small way. They are about 20cm long, made of springy steel and they are everywhere if you look. We have asked truckies, builders, council workers, the neighbours – no-one knows. One person said they were bits of ‘strap wire’. If so, what do they strap and how do they get to cover Sydney?
