Are you interested in becoming a journalist or freelance writer’ Maybe you’ve had one or two articles published, and you want to take the next step’ Looking for advice on how to sell more of your work’
The NSW Writers’ Centre has a new program starting up this weekend for emerging journalists, taught by journalist and trainer Joanna Maxwell.
‘The Journos’ Group’ will meet for two-hour intensive sessions on ten Saturday mornings from February 7.
Topics will include: marketplace opportunities (eg online journalism), interview skills, writing styles & techniques, niche areas (eg travel, humour, social justice), pitching to editors, shaping ideas, editing your work and maximizing your chances of publication.
The emphasis of the program is to learn new skills, share experiences and practice new techniques’hopefully taking you to the next step with your writing.
