THEATRE: UNIT 46

THEATRE: UNIT 46

Warring neighbours are nothing new, but a deeper look into the madness and sadness that surrounds those living too close together in units is a refreshing take on an old subject by Unit 46.

Focusing on the lives of two renters, this unique performance switches between the lives of Tim from Unit 46 and Diane from Unit 36. Lonely, rejected, and out of jobs, both have allowed themselves to be boxed into their pathetic apartments where they spend their days over-thinking the most trivial of things in life. Slowly, the drive each other insane by simple being – their daily activities grate on the other’s nerves – to the point where they become consumed by how annoying the other person is.

Exploring the paranoia, obsessions, loneliness, and insanity of unit living, Unit 46 will draw a good laugh while exhibiting the skills of two actors who will try to convince audiences that the stage is their haven – albeit a truly sad and lonely one.

June 25 – July 29. The Factory Theatre, 105 Victoria Rd, Enmore. $25-28, 9550 3666 or unit46.com.au
