Tree writes off car in shower of sparks
A large branch last week fell from a eucalypt tree during calm weather, destroying a Ford Laser in Brougham Street Woolloomooloo. It brought down a power line, and several houses in nearby streets were blacked out for about an hour. Kristen Brown (left, with Tigger) and Adriana Orika saw it happen. “The branch was waving around as if it was windy, and then snap! it fell on the car,” said Kristen. Another witness said he saw “sparks like lightning”.
