Thomas Jackson – Entomology

This weekend, Sydney artist Thomas Jackson brings his new body of work to the China Heights art gallery.

In this exhibition, Jackson removes all movement from his work and focuses on the beauty of still, lifeless insects as he studies their form. This is an extremely intriguing project that explores the intrinsic beauty displayed by Mother Nature within these preserved and decoratively posed animals.

Thomas, who is known and recognised for his illustration work and painted street murals, has long been inspired by the natural world and the inherent conflict between it and man-made structures in his work. In his latest blog post, he says he is “super excited about the upcoming exhibition.”

This exhibition will be interesting to such a broad audience, as it is a stunning blend of scientific definition and art.
