It’s been over decade since The Mark of Cain had an album grace the new release section of a record store, but they’re finally back with a heavy slab of cranium crushing rock. The Adelaidean group (with American skin belter John Stanier on drums) haven’t lost a lick of intensity as Songs of the Third and Fifth is just top to bottom full of mega guitar riffs, pulsating bass lines, Earth-shattering drumming and John Scott’s bellowing vocal delivery. Each hook on this album is brutally brilliant; hell, this record is so freaking heavy it scares me.
