THE LOOKOUT

THE LOOKOUT

What are the roles of the artist and art in society?  These are the questions raised by The Lookout.

Locust Jones dominates with a 100 metre drawing of frantic strokes, which reflects the fast paced flow of information in modern society. Jones’ dark blues and oranges are joined by the fading pastels of Justine Varga who uses photography to produce beautiful images of everyday objects.

The exhibition includes films which consider the role of artist as social commentator. Anri Sala’s, DAMMI I COLOR, discusses the power of art to change communities and Rania Stephan’s, Three Disappearances of Saad Hosni, splices fictional films to create a biography.
