THE FIRST EMPEROR FILM SERIES
With a line-up that proves once and for all that Chinese cinema is not all Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon – although that gets a look-in too – the AGNSW film series attached to The First Emperor is sounding almost as impressive as the exhibition itself. Two films deal specifically with the First Emperor himself, Hero (dubbed one of the feistiest and finest martial arts films ever made) and The Emperor and the Assassin (a romantic drama from the director best known for Farewell My Concubine).
