A series of festivals and celebrations are coming to Sydney’s streets in October and November, hosted by the City of Sydney council. The project aims to celebrate communities and tighten their involvement, uplift local neighbourhoods, and put ‘high street’ businesses on the map.

Streets such as the Crown St in Surry Hills, Redfern St, and Harris Street in Pyrmont, are some locations to the upcoming Sydney Streets festival.

According to the City of Sydney, “Sydney Streets is part of our community recovery plan, supporting the economic and social recovery of businesses and local communities impacted by the pandemic”.

Sydney’s Lord Mayor Clover Moore said that “we’ll see local businesses and communities working together, building relationships and capacity to ensure local events and collaboration continue long term”.

“Bringing festival vibes to Sydney will help businesses regain momentum following the impacts of Covid and record rainfall” Cr Moore said.

Live instrumental music, outdoor seating & dining, and portable toilets will be provided by the City of Sydney.

“High streets across the city will close to traffic and be transformed into spaces for walking, shopping, dining, and entertainment,” Cr Moore said.

Locations and dates

Seven of Sydney Streets’ events will run from 11am to 10pm on their scheduled dates. The locations and dates of Sydney Streets’ festivals, all falling on Saturday, include:
