THE DOG LOGS

THE DOG LOGS

Any dog owner would know that our canine friends possess varied emotions, just like we humans do. Some are easily recognisable, and others leave us baffled, as we try to decipher one woof and the next.

In a new Insomniac Theatre production of The Dog Logs, 12 dog stories will finally be told from their howling mouths … or rather the mouths of the four actors that play them.

Created by award winning writer CJ Johnson and directed by Maggie Scott, The Dog Logs will contain many doggie declarations, including those of a sniffer dog, an embarrassed dog, and a dog that ate its neighbours’ dog. Scott says we can expect, “explosive” canines, and warns that they, “may also occasionally burst offstage into the audience, as misbehaving dogs tend to do.”

“I’ve already been amazed by the excitement about this show from the local dog-loving fraternity!” says Maggie. The real surprise, however, may be in the sponsor, with the cabaret-style production being supported by Beerdogs Bitter. That’s right – a beer flavoured, non-alcoholic drink for dogs. Maybe we have been listening to our pet’s pleas after all.
