The Belligerents – Outside:Inside
The third EP from the Brisbane five piece serves up a delightful offering of pop-rock tunes that take the listener on a colourful journey over the duration of the five tracks.
Laden with whirring electric guitars, catchy yet understated drum lines and soaring falsetto vocals the tracks are mesmerising in a psychedelic, mind-trip type of way. The Belligerents are onto something special here and could lead the charge as this style of pop-rock makes a resurgence.
The opening two singles In My Way and Voices are the true standouts, but the extended version of Looking At You also closes out memorably. (JA)
