TEXAS TEA – SAD SUMMER HITS

The Brisbane two-piece release their third album Sad Summer Hits and it’s a forlorn gallop through retro country and prairie blues. Each pop-country tinged number is laden with sickeningly sweet hooks and an endearing melancholia in the lyricism that makes you feel as though your heart strings are being plucked along with the guitar strings. Sonically, the richly produced album features twangy guitars awash with sighing tremolos and vocals so intimately recorded you could close your eyes and swear you were in the same room with the sorrowful duo. Cowboys have never sounded so lonely.
