Tennis stoush benefits Plunkett Street

Every cloud has a silver lining, they say. The storm around who runs the City’s tennis courts has resulted in a donation of $2,500 to Plunkett Street Public School in Woolloomooloo. Rushcutters Bay residents who supported their local tennis coach, Rory Miles, had collected money for a legal opinion from QC Francis Douglas on the tender process. But Mr Douglas waived his fee, requesting that it went to a good cause. The residents decided on Plunkett St, whose students receive free tennis and coaching at the Rushcutters Bay courts. Principal Sean Moran (pictured right) said the money would go towards air conditioning for the school.
