Swan Lake On Ice Is Mesmerising Holiday Entertainment

Swan Lake On Ice, performed by the Imperial Ice Stars, is a great holiday treat suitable for the entire family.

The Imperial Ice Stars is a theatrical ice-skating company which was founded in 2004 and consists predominantly of Russian athletes with the British, Canadians and Americans also in the mix. They have performed to over 4 million people in countries including New Zealand, Spain, France, Russia, Canada, South Africa and China.

Now they have returned to Australia to mesmerise audiences once again with the timeless classic, Swan Lake, a ballet which was composed by Russian composer Tchaikovsky in 1875 and still remains one of the most popular ballets of all time.

They are an award-winning company, the performers amongst them having won over 250 competition medals. Their exhaustive rehearsal regime for this production was 6 days a week, 9 hour each day and an extra 3 hours prior to each performance. This clearly highlights the skill and excellence audiences can expect when attending a performance.

Swan Lake briefly tells the story of a Prince who must choose a bride on his birthday but ultimately, he only dreams of true love. He meets a princess who was turned into a swan. But can the spell be broken so they can be together forever?

This production is absolutely magnificent and a uniquely captivating way to experience Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece.

The figure skating has many complex moves which have never been performed on stage or in competition and should leave audiences with feelings of admiration and respect. It’s a five-star production with astute choreography, beautiful costumes and astounding sets which collectively leave audiences entranced.

Many people regard this style of dance as ‘ballet on ice’ which may be difficult to follow for non-dance enthusiasts, as each dance movement complemented by spellbinding music, delivers a piece of the story.

Regardless it’s simply pleasurable sitting back enjoying the visuals, the music, the sets, the incredible performances of all the skaters, and the professionalism and sheer artistry of all involved who brought this show to the stage.
