Swan Lake meets Frozen

The glorious music of Tchaikovsky set to an enchanting fairytale and performed by a troupe of world-class athletes resplendent in  sumptuous costumes gliding like true swans on a frozen stage. That is the extraordinary magic of Swan Lake On Ice. 

Created by world-renowned ice-skating dancers, Imperial Ice Stars, Swan Lake On Ice is a unique, breathtakingly beautiful new way to experience one of the best-loved ballets of all time. The 23  skaters in the troupe hold 250 medals among them, won at the very highest level of athletic competition. 

The show is not only a display of unparalleled artistry and skill, it is a heartwarming, thrilling recreation of a timeless story which features stunning scenery, amazing effects, and surprising circus elements. 

Artistic director, producer, and founder of Imperial Ice Stars, Tony Mercer, fell in love with figure skating the same way many people around the world did: watching Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean skate in the 1984 Winter Olympic Games. 

The cinematic beauty of their routine inspired Mercer to try and create a full theatrical experience on ice. After many years of trial and tweaking with various ventures, Mercer was ready to commit to his dream. Imperial Ice Stars was launched in 2004 with a touring production of Sleeping Beauty on Ice which was an immediate smash hit, establishing Mercer as the king of ice choreography. 

Since 2004, Imperial Ice Stars shows Swan Lake on Ice, Cinderella on Ice, Nutcracker on Ice and Sleeping Beauty on Ice have had repeat tours around the world. 

Swan Lake on Ice returns to Sydney for an exclusive season at the magnificent Sydney Coliseum in Rooty Hill from January 2025. Don’t miss this incredible show.
