Ignore the Viking kitsch on the walls; there are excellent, innovative pizzas coming out of these wood-fire ovens. Thin crust and not laden with cheese, so you can taste the toppings. Cheesiness you’ll find in the names: from the God of Wisdom to the Male Fertility God (which has a lustful Béarnaise sauce – they could be onto something). Standout is the First Woman On Earth ($25), basically your late-night kebab on a pizza – proving women are geniuses. On the lighter side, World Of Gods ($24.50) with smoked salmon, avocado and dill cream is so tasty it took me a while to notice – no cheese. Although I have to say the Salmon Tartar ($9.50) is a similar tasting, but somehow better, entree. The Swedish girls at the table next to us (always a good sign) were ordering salads the size of their pretty blonde heads. I just had to have one. The Goat’s Cheese Salad ($17) with roast pumpkin, beetroot and walnuts made me want to dance on the wooden tables. It’s not cheap but the large servings will satisfy a Thor-like hunger. I didn’t hear any ABBA while I ate, even if I did notice the takeaway line curling through the restaurant like an Ikea queue.
