Surf club hosts celebrity golf day

More than 90 members and supporters recently played in Bondi Surf Bathers Life Saving Club’s (SBLSC’s) inaugural golf day at the picturesque St Michael’s course, Little Bay.
They teed off to an 8 am and shotgun start in excellent weather, displaying a wide range of skills from some wonderful shots to the basic hackers.
The day raised a valuable five-figure amount towards club funds, and it is hoped it will become an annual event.
Sport commentators Gordon Bray and Norman ‘Nugget’ May compered the post-golf luncheon function and Bondi club member and former rugby league player John ‘Bomber’ Peard gave a comedy skit.
